MELLISSA SCHUBERT

PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST

BASED IN NEW WESTMINSTER, BC

Hey there! I’m Mellissa, originally from Prince George, BC, and living in the Lower Mainland since 2016. I am a professional makeup artist with experience in many areas of makeup, including film, fashion, and special effects.  Since February 2022, I have been working as an Artist at MAC Cosmetics and in May 2022 I graduated the Makeup Artistry Program from JCI Institute with Distinction.

Makeup has always been an art near and dear to my heart
since the first time I put way too much rouge blush and frosty blue eyeshadow all over my face to try impress my crush at 11 years old. (you're welcome, Kevin)  Since that time, the passion has stayed the same but my skills have improved. In 2008 I lived in Tokyo and was exposed firsthand to fashion and beauty beyond my wildest dreams, shapes and shades I admired from afar on the internet.  Upon returning to Canada and graduating high school, I had it in my mind that I wanted to do makeup professionally.

Makeup helped me grow into myself with confidence and I'm truly blessed to be apart of this industry--wether it's a photoshoot, a film set, or on someone's special day.

When I'm not painting faces I'm usually found hanging out with my dear rescue pets, trying to get some language practice in (Japanese & Russian), or littering my favourite drag performer's Instagram posts with likes.
